Mr. Miguel Veloso, Principal
Welcome to Miami Springs Adult & Community Education Center, a full-service institution of learning serving all of Miami-Dade County. Our daily effort is a constant pursuit of perfection; while we may often fall short of that lofty goal, excellence is always the accepted result.
From our five main campuses – Miami Springs SHS, Hialeah Gardens SHS, Ronald Reagan/Doral SHS, Westland-Hialeah SHS, and Riverside Elementary – to our various satellite learning annexes, to our far-flung A-SNAP learning centers (which cover West Miami-Dade to Biscayne Boulevard and Kendall to North Miami), we serve an entire community – both in diverse size and individual needs.
Our main campuses and annexes provide ESOL instruction, Citizenship preparation, ABE/GED courses, vocational/technical programs, and high school completion classes for students who wish to take charge of their futures. Our A-SNAP programs, which serve both adult students with disabilities and adult senior (over 55 years of age) learners, strive to provide meaningful instruction and engagement to two of the most important constituencies in our community. Our students are the lifeblood of our institution’s existence, and we show them our love and commitment by providing quality instruction, excellent customer service, a variety of products and services, and a profound respect for their time investment and faith in what we do for them.
Through our Career Pathways initiative, students have access to a well-trained student services’ staff equipped to meet their individual needs. Learning is not just relegated to the classroom; students also find their classroom to be out in the community, whether it’s Vizcaya, Marlins Park, FIU, or other cultural/social venues. Learning, you see, is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor that is relegated to only a classroom.
Our students represent the full breadth of cultural, social, economic, and spiritual diversity that makes our community as unique as any in America. Our relentless desire to make sure that we strive to meet the needs of each individual’s pursuit of their goals is why we exist. That we compete with other educational institutions pushes us harder and further to make sure that our students always return.
And they do.
We welcome those who are interested to speak with our friendly and helpful staff to see how we can better serve your needs, or assist someone you know in starting a path towards success. Our doors are always open, as are our hearts, dedicated to making our community a better place to call home.
Respectfully,
Mr. Miguel Veloso
