Programs
Miami Springs Adult Education Center offers general education programs for adults. We offer a range of instructional programs that help adults get the basic skills they need to be productive workers, family members, and citizens. The major program areas are Adult Basic Education, Adult High School, GED® Preparation, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). These programs emphasize basic skills such as reading, writing, math, and English language competency. Adult education programs also help students gain the knowledge and skills they need to enter and succeed in postsecondary education. Students enrolled in Adult High School can earn a high school diploma or its equivalent by successfully passing the Standard GED® tests.
Adult education programs are available to individuals that:
- Are 16 years or older.
- Are not enrolled or required to be enrolled in secondary school.
- Do not have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Want to learn to speak, read, and write the English language.
To register, please come to the center Monday through Thursday between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. On Fridays, we are open between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Registration is an ongoing and continuous process throughout most of the trimester. Anyone 16 years of age or older is eligible to register. All students must see a counselor before registering.
